Cone Apparatus Description and Specifications for Lab Tenders
Cone Apparatus.
The Sand Cone Density test is an inexpensive method of determining in‐place density of soils having maximum particle sizes up to 2" (51mm) using test hole volumes of approximately 0.1 cubic feet (2.8L). Sand Cone Density Apparatus is a 1 gallon (3.8L) threaded plastic jug with detachable brass double cone fitting. The brass cone is threaded on one end, flanged to 6½" (165mm) on the other, with a brass cylindrical valve of ½" (12.7mm) dia. orifice between ends.
