Drape tester Description and Specifications for Lab Tenders
Drape tester.
Drape tester A circular specimen is placed on the top of the tester,
between two smaller horizontally
mounted metal discs.
• The fabric is allowed to drape under its own weight.
• With the help of a light and a parabolic mirror underneath the
specimen, the drape image of the
fabric is reflected on to the paper ring.
• After tracing the drape image, the paper ring is cut to separate the
shadowed and non-shadowed
area.
• The drape coefficient is then calculated - the shadow of the specimen
is expressed as a
percentage of the whole paper ring.
• This instrument has a variety of applications for assessment, such as:
the effect of variation
in fabric construction and finish; quality control in the production of
laminated fabrics and
fusible interlinings.
• Paper rings are supplied in boxes of 500; with either 36, 30, or 24cm
diameter. Very stiff specimens will require the larger size paper ring
for a successful test. TECHNICAL DATA Width: 545mm Depth: 525mm Height:
