LABORATORY OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS Description and Specifications for Lab Tenders
LABORATORY OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS.
LABORATORY OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS This equipment allows students to carry out several
experiments of nuclear physics.
A computer data acquisition system is available via USB or
serial port The software enables to gather data in real time
with automatic transfer to a file.
The complete PC control of all the data and of data acquisition
rate, as well as of Geiger-Muller counter enables to realize
one’s own experiments.
The functions of spreadsheet enable to analyze data, setup, to
plot diagrams and to print a copy of the screen.

analog rateometer with self-alignment, or a digital rateometer
in CPM or CPS, counting, time elapsed, programming time,
setting high voltage, acquisition time and number of
detections.
SET OF SOURCES
Set of 5 sources: Polonium-210, 0.1 μCi ; Césium-137, 5 μCi ; Sr-
900, 0.1 μCi ; TI-204, 1 μCi ; CO60, 1 μCi
GEIGER-MULLER TUBE
Complete detection system that uses a GM tube with diameter of
35 mm ; it is provided with a window for detecting Alpha, Beta,
Gamma radiations. The plastic support shows some grooves
for inserting proper supports for radioactive tablets for the
experimental study of inverse-square law.
ABSORPTION SET
Complete set of absorbers. It includes 20 calibrated absorbers of
5 mg/cm2 to 7200 mg/cm2 for being used in studies of attenuation
of α, ß and γ rays.
These absorbers are made of plastic material, of aluminium and
of lead.
