STEAM TENSION BELOW 100°C – MOLAR HEAT OF VAPORIZATION Description and Specifications for Lab Tenders

STEAM TENSION BELOW 100 C MOLAR HEAT OF  VAPORIZATION.
STEAM TENSION BELOW 100°C – MOLAR HEAT OF  VAPORIZATION This equipment enables to study steam tension in the temperature range of 40-85°C. Clausius – Clapeyron equation describes the relationship existing between temperature and pressure. Carrying out some tests will lead to determine an average value for the heat of vaporization of water. 250 ml of demineralized water will boil for approximately 10 minutes to eliminate all traces of dissolved gas ; then water is cooled down to ambient temperature. The three-neck fl ask is fi lled with gas-free water up to ¾ and it is heated. As soon as the temperature of 35°C is reached, a vacuum pump will create vacuum in the space over the water inside the fl ask. Heating furtherly will provoke an increase of pressure p and of temperature t inside the fl ask. The values of “P” and “t” are read on a pressure gauge and on a thermometer by steps of 5°C up to a maximum temperature t = 85°C. The values of pressure and temperature can also be detected via the (optional) data logger.
